Groups are mobilized to serve on 3 to 4 day missional experiences. Team members discover what it means to live missionally. They serve in 6 to 8 different ministry sites. They rub shoulders with people from different races, speak in different languages, and stuggle with similar pressures.
Students walk away with the "One Thing" they can do over the next 6 months to live a life on Mission.

What is a Mission Plunge? A Mission Plunge brings team members into local, cross-cultural settings for the sake of serving the way Jesus did. GO Connect works with local churches to bring an experience in which team members come to know God in a new way. We coordinate ministry centers for teams to fill the days with serving opportunties. We find areas within a 50 mile radius of Portland, Oregon that truly need help.
Why should my group do a Mission Plunge? Every team member has the opportunity to walk away with an expanded worldview that can only be obtained by service and the plunge experience.

What are the results? A Mission Plunge can open the hearts of everyone who participates to the needs of the less fortunate. Each team member walks away with the "One Thing" they can do differently in their own personal life.
What will our participants do? They will be servants. Team members are exposed to new situations, opportunities and physical surroundings that will challenge their stereotypes and assumptions. We keep them safe to turning churches into homeless shelters. They will work in low income areas whether they are picking up trash or eating with a child. They may work in downtown shelters, children’s programs, churches, parks, residential hotels, food banks, soup kitchens, and neighborhood centers. Our trained leaders work with the team members as they process what they see and experience.

What is the cost? $129 per person which includes 3 days of missions experience, three meals a day, all service scheduling, and the services of our staff. Housing is done at a local church or the groups church.
Other information. GO Connect will provide: All ministry sites, all meals, a team leader, all expenses related to ministry sites. The group is responsible for: All transportation (to, from, and in the site city), one adult leader for every five students, and your morning devotional.
Who may participate? A Mission Plunge is open to everyone, but really works well with youth groups, families, and small groups.
